Remember when the number of consecutive wins was limited to 5?
How about bringing ball all those 5-day champions that were prevented from winning more games and having a tournament?
Or re-inserting them in the game to see uf they could have won more?
I think it's far too late for that now. It's been probably 20 years since the rule changed. Some of the older champions have probably passed away or gotten very old. The best of the best went on to be in various TOCs and some even went on to the decades tournament a few years ago. I do wish somebody would beat the Ken Jennings record, as I never liked him and thought he was quite smarmy. I didn't like Brad Rutter either. I was more of a Roger Craig fan.
Another thing that stinks is that their dollar total in most cases won't be as high as current champions, even if all things were equal at five days.
Just the the ones that are still alive. The ones from Alex Trebek's "reign".
