On the show the other day the correct answer was NASA and the woman said NSA and Alex responded that's right NASA and then realized her answer was wrong and he gave the right one. That really queered the game as she kept the cash on the wrong answer.

Well, if she kept the cash that wasn't Alex's doing, because he ruled her correct and then immediately said she was wrong. He's not in charge of changing the dollar figures.

Actually it was Trebeks doing because HE said the correct answer and not her incorrect one so her cash was not taken away and then the question was not thrown back to the two remaining eligible players. Alex could have said Mea culpa. Pompously, of course.

I guess since it was Alex's good, the judges don't hold it against the player.

NSA/NASA. What a difference an 'A' makes. I hoped they docked it from Trebeks pay.

Yes, and because he ruled her incorrect after he gave the correct answer, they should have taken the money away from her. STill not seeing how that part of it was his fault. The other was an accident. I thought he did apologize. He at least admitted that he gave the correct answer in error. Sorry he's not as perfect as you.
