Will this version be released on DVD?

The other versions and takes of Our Town are probably out on DVD and so I was wondering if this one, too, should see the light of day on DVD also.

If it's already had a DVD release, please let me know...! :)

Thanks

Available/Affordable. I had to buy my copy of an Italian DVD from Germany for $75 four years ago. BUT, the rights are owned by Warner Classics and they released it three years ago in the US in NTSC combined with Puccini's La Fanciulla del West (my personal favorite version of that opera, Neblett, Domingo and Carolli are excellent) and Manon Lescaut (I know, I know, more than you want) for about $35. So do I. I've had it since I saw it in 2005 and I'm watching it now. It's delightful. Even Lupone is good in it, and she drives me crazy!

I got it at Dimple Records. Try dimple.com.

It is available from Amazon.com on DVD. The disc has 4 films on it, all with Dame Maggie Smith. The other titles are superb choices. She plays Portia in The Merchant of Venice, The Millionairess by G.B.Shaw and an Alan Bennett play entitled Bed Among the Lentils. All this for $29 and change. How can you resist?

Now available on Bluray through Amazon.UK (United Kingdom only) BUT....it's region free so that means it WILL play in ANY bluray player. I just ordered my copy.

I've searched all the sites mentioned and have not been able to find it. Am I searching with the wrong name? I'd appreciate any help in locating it. Thanks!

Howdy all! This thread gives an illustration as to how injurious is imdb's policy of lumping everything ever shown via PBS's GREAT PERFORMANCES under the umbrella of that series. This starts off with a question regarding a particular version of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, and next thing you know, folks are discussing Warner Bros., Giacammo Puccini, his operas TOSCA, MANON LESCAUT, and LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST, something unnamed, with Patti Lupone in it (or is she in that OUR TOWN? I know she's not in those operas), and possible sources for buying goodness knows what. Please contact imdb and PBS to let them know how frustrating and wrong it is to find so many disparate things, all lumped together, making it hard to find info on a particular one, much less be able to buy one. Averyone complain to people who can change this situation.

Multiplex: 100+ shows a day, NONE worth watching. John Sayles' latest: NO distribution. SAD.
