How did it end ? ****SPOILERS *****

High there Voltes V fans . I have been searching for ages this title in IMDb and I have finally managed to find it . I am happy that I am not alone . I used to watch it as a teenager but the channel always omitted the last episode . Don't ask me why : it just did . I was wondering if anyone could fill me in what happened at the final episode .

The second to last episode which I have watched depicts the successful try of the Boazans to learn the secret assembling mechanism of Voltes . At the end of the episode , a particularly nasty giant robot attacks the flying vehicles and hits them with an EMP which renders them unable to constitute Voltes V . The episode ends on a very critical note , namely an intensive cliffhanger .

What happens on the last episode ? Did the 5 membered team win ? What became of the Boazans ? What happened to Prince Zardoz ? Were Michel , Ivan and Carlos able to find their long lost father ? I don't care about spoilers . Every information would be appreciated . Thanks in advance .

Yes, it was so moving when Prince Zardoz/Heinel actually SACRIFICED HIS LIFE to save Steve Armstrong/Kenichi Go.

And when the Armstrong (or Go) brothers saw that he was about to die, they were screaming "BROTHEEEEEEERR!!!" - the way they would do earlier in the series with "MOTHEEEER!!!" (2nd episode when Mrs. Armstrong sacrifices her life to save the team) and various cries of "FATHEEEERRR!" throughout the series.

Like Vader in the STAR WARS series, Zardoz or Heinel may have been the most dramatic or interesting character in the series. You thought he was a pure villain, when it turns out, he was actually an HONORABLE Bozanian, doing what he had to do for his people. It was the Bozanian EMPEROR Zambojil who was the evil one, and it was ZARDOZ who killed him, before he then dies saving Steve's life, after Dr. Armstrong (Prof. Kentaro Go) reveals to him (after seeing Zardoz holding a knife which used to be Armstrong's) that Zardos is actually his son with his Bozanian wife.

Yes, the final episode is available on Youtube, and VCDs of the entire series are still available in Manila.

To the OP, you MUST WATCH THIS. I am now near my mid-40's, and yet, over 30 years after seeing the show on local TV in the Philippines, then FINALLY seeing the climax of the show 20 years later, it is sitll my all-time favorite TV show.

That episode you've seen was nowhere near the end of the Voltes V series. In fact, that episode was only their 10th out of 40! The title of that episode is "Voltes Docking Unsuccessful," which also happens to be one of the series' best episodes.

After 32 years of watching Voltes V again,I was really surprised to realized that this is more than just an anime. The characters have depth, the story was really interesting and the show tackled discrimination, family values, humility, teamwork and love for country. The only minor complaint I had is it was somewhat MELODRAMATIC. But still,I consider this as my favorite anime of all anime of all time.
