This movie makes any of Tyler Perry's movies look like The Godfather series.
No plot, poor direction and lousy ending. Don't waste two hours of your life watching this stereotypical, blaxploitative garbage. The script sounds like it was from the 1970s or something.
I saw you breaking the 5th Commandment. Congress passes these things for a reason.
Byron is quite the character and played to perfection by Howard. It is a dry as dirt movie that has little plot. You've got a quick to temper young man (Howard) who's finds himself in a very bad situation that gets worse. He's put himself at the mercy of a local young white guy who uses Howard as a pawn in plan for revenge and murder. This flick has to be watched in its entirety or it won't make sense. It doesn't make my 'must see' list but again Howard does credible work. The final scene is the best part of this movie.
Taking this movie seriously was very difficult. There were laugh out moments where there shouldn't have been. Thats when you know a movie is really bad.
This movie was difficult to watch, but not for the reasons i see listed here. Maybe because i'm a T. Howard fan...it was a nice surprise to find this little old gem on latenite.
Maybe y'all have never been around racist, psychotic folks, but i thought this movie was disturbing because that *beep* can, and does really happen in the rough backroads of America!

This was a good film, and a nice early showcase for both Howard and Nicole Ari Parker. BTW, stop calling every movie with black people in the lead a "blaxploitation" movie----that dosen't even apply here because it's a '90's movie, not a '70's movie. It dosen't even fit that catagory anyway---that's just some lazy shorthand on your part to dismiss the film. Some of the plot was a little farfetched, but there was some good tension and suspense in it--well made, worth seeing for that alone. The young actor playing the psycho mechanic--Brendan Sexton, who was in WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE and SESSION 9, was pretty good, too. Plus Tyler Perry had not even made his first movie when this came out---another lazy shorthand reference----Ty;er Perry dosen't make or represent ALL black films---he's just ONE director, thank you very much. I swear when it comes to anything about black people, folks will say the most idiotic thins and group us ll together like we're just one big group that's all the same--which is total and complete bull****.
