As vampire movies go...

This one really is one of the best.
Opinions anyone?

I totally agree, a well directed piece. They did do a little too much explaining of the vampire rules (sunlight ect.) but other than that it was a great movie. Lilith is very sly, cunning, and hot. There is a great deal of action to go along with the well-driven plot. The movie didn't drag and had a good sense of humor about it. The visual effects were pretty good too. I watch a lot of vamp movies and this definately is one of my personal favs.

I absolutely concur, it was a really good film.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world that he did not exist

Max Shreck would love it.

This film is not about being good or bad, it’s about teaching young British film makers how to make a film with no budget. Believe me I know I’m doing one at the moment and it is so fu(king hard you wouldn’t believe.

But yes this film is *beep*

How's it going?

Fine and you

Fine thanks! I found your comments really interesting - specially as I finally got round to seeing Razorblade Smile! You hit the nail on the head! I was curious to know how you're getting on with the film at the moment. I've been working on a film (as a writer) and I can totally understand how tricky it is getting ANYthing filmed - it's just such a long and painful process! What are you finding the most difficult/annoying?

reply

I think it's the best vampire movie ever made.

Okay, so it's got a zero budget and some of the actors clearly aren't professionals but just friends of the director. So what?

The script's brillant, and that's the important thing.

You mean apart from the obvious misquotes and errors in vampire mythology.......

p.s. I love the "sly" way she creeps up to the mansion, what with running up to the tennis court where the bodyguards are and bumping into the fence close to them.

This film is wonderfully gothic and great fun - the acting is dodgy, sure, but Eileen Daly really plays her role with great style and wit.

To the question asked by spookypurple7 I'm at film school now as to get more exsperience with 35mm cameras.

The worst aspect of this film (apart from Daly inability to be remotely convincing with her acting) are Daly's fangs...surely the crappest fangs in any vampire flick..big, bannana type fangs that look rounded and completely blunt.

She looks like she has a copule of white coated Cashew nuts stuck on her gums!!

Well I liked the film, it had an art school type of feel which I enjoyed. I like to Ms. Daly I heard some things about what she did in her other movies I don't think that is really true but if it is it's her life and I won't knock her for it. She seems to be a good actress to me so I hope they do more. I hope to see more of Ms.Daly too just with clothes on.

I found this film to be a whole lot of fun. Director/writer Jake West really turns standard vampire lore on its ear with his wickedly witty script. Eileen Daily portrays Lilith Silver with great verve and a tremendous surplus of smoking hot sex appeal (she looked absolutely smashing in that skintight leather catsuit!). Plus this film delivers plenty of splashy gore, tasty nudity, and steamy soft-core sex. The very British sense of bone-dry sardonic gallows humor tops everything off quite nicely.

Chirpy tastes like chicken.
