A few questions...

Having watched this series many, many times, I'm left with a few questions concerning the last few episodes. Firstly, why did Gato correct the colony's drop? What was the tactical or symbolic advantage of doing so? Why was a seemingly non-military target more advantageous than their enemy's main base?

Also, to what extent was the Federation aware of Zeon's plans? Jamitov seemed rather unconcerned, as though he knew Jaburo wasn't the target. Either he was confident the Solar System II plan would work, or he knew he was safe either way.

Furthermore, I hear that Captain Synapse is tried and executed for steeling the GP03 Gundam (off screen). Where is this mentioned, and do we know this for certain, or was his sentence met with a similar fate as Kou's?

Finally, do we ever have a more accurate idea of where the second colony fell, other than the North American prairies?

By striking the North American plains, they disrupted the grain production for several years. This could (and probably did) cause food shortage that lasted for quite a while.

They were fairly aware of what was going on, as they had someone on the inside: Cima. I think they also had greater faith in their Solar System plan, as well. But they weren't expecting Gato to come in and disrupt their plans. Not sure how badly he did, but he probably caused a good deal of damage by destroying the control ship.

I saw Synapse's fate in a timeline slip that came with the final DVD. I doubt he got any reprieve as Kou did, as he probably didn't have to wait for a military execution in the same way that a civilian waits for years on death row.

Can't help with that last question.

Don't you want to become one with me? To be of one mind and body?
