What happened to Captain Synapse? I looked somewhere and it said that he was tried and executed, but for what reason? Also, who was that captain that replaced him afterwards?

He was tried and executed for not following orders, and for stealing the GP03S. Those were the official reasons. Unofficially, it was because he knew too much about what really happened during the Delaz Incident. Funny thing is, if he hadn't been railroaded, and had his trial delayed by 3 months, the official erasure of the events would have cleared him of any charges, the same as Kou Uraki.

Replaced him where? I doubt his ship was salvageable after the events of 0083, and the fact that it was never seen again seems to verify this assumption.
