Jack says he went to school at Bido's. Is Bido an actual place, if so, where is it?

Bedales. It's a public(i.e. private fee paying)boarding school in the English countryside. It's sort of quite liberal in its ethos. It's near Petersfield in Hampshire, in the UK.

Ah, my closed caption spelled it Bido's. No wonder I couldn't find it. I looked at Bedales' web site. It's a bit pricy for bartender's son. Perhaps things were a bit flusher in those days.

Ahhh, I suspect that as Jake's dad was a gambler - he probably raised money that way for it.
