It is one of my favorite movies. A tragic, touching story that holds nothing back about the horrors of the Civil War. Amazing performances by all. The story reminds me of the Odyssey the way it was told. Epic in every sense of the word.

shareYes it's a wonderful movie.Lots of great performances.Poetic,haunting,great cinematography,beautiful soundtrack.Lots of powerful little moments with the likes of Charlie Hunnam,Natalie Portman,Philip Seymour Hoffman,Jena Malone.It's a beautiful and moving story.Plus I am a nut for anything to do with the Civil War so this was just my cup of tea.

I agree. It really touched me the first time I watched it. Man...people really had hard lives back then. When I compare our lives now to back then, I'm really humbled. I love this movie.

Extremely underrated, yes. It has everything that a great movie should. It's one of my all time favorite movies ever.
