Who was he? And was anyone pissed when Wilson told him to leave and he did and we never know what happened to him? I mean the ending was already cheesy, least they could of done was have him come back and help out or something

He left him because he wanted the kid to head to safety, not back towards the danger(going back for the drive). As a movie fan, what I was more hoping for was him saying "f it, im not leaving you, I'm coming to help you get that drive..."
