What storylines could they explore in a third movie...

Any ideas? If it happens that is lol

reply

None just none. The last movie was awful and should never have been made. I cant honestly envision any more ideas that wouldn't be just clutching at straws.

The woman are now in their late 40s early 50s and too old to have kids, their jobs are settled. I just cant see anymore roads for it to go down

"What you don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how can a billion Chinese people be wrong?"

I'm all for just random fan speculating, but I have to agree the second movie showed they were out of ideas and another movie would have even less to do. At some point you can't have Sam sleeping around as much, and that's her only schtick. The only thing that had any potential in the 2nd movie was Miranda's job but the show is focused on relationships and not much else to expand on that at this point.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

Lol I've always wondered this myself! SJP says that there is one more story line they can explore but it has to be done before they're all too old... and I can't even imagine what it could be! I wish they would tell what it is if they don't end up doing it.

reply

Yeah, the only story lines I can imagine (in sticking w the theme of this show)would be to show all the women single again (widowed or divorced) and how they are getting on w their lives, their children/grandchildren, health issues....kind of a Golden Manhattan Girls.

reply

I can't even imagine what it could be!

Idk, Big and Carrie trying to have a baby?

reply

Haha, you mean adopt a baby? Big is now in his 60's and Carrie in her 50's (or close to it).

reply

Well, they have a lot of money, so I'm sure they can afford countless attempts at I.v.f or use donated eggs.

reply

Carrie can just barely handle reality now...I can't imagine the whining and carrying on if she were pregnant.

reply

True, but I think most of the fan base of SATC is not too interested in baby/children type storylines...but I could be wrong. The main theme of the show was showing the seedy side of romance in NYC, not a happy, feelgood, family-type show. I just cannot imagine Big and Carrie wringing their hands over trying to have a child. Besides, it was done to death w Charlotte, Trey and Harry.👶👪👎

reply

I know, I'm was just joking.

How about this, Samantha's cancer comes back and the movie starts at her amazing funeral, with champagne and pink everywhere, fabulous just like she was. All of her former lovers are at her funeral and Smith does her eulogy. The girls come together because of Samantha's death and we pick up what they've been doing the past couple of years, Carrie and Big adopt a bunch of kids (Brad and Angelina style) and Miranda realizes she's a lesbian and when they break the news to Brady, he runs away from home. Charlotte decides she needs to spice up the marriage and invites a woman into her and Harry's life and they do the poly thing

reply

LOL, omg! That gave me a good laugh. :)

LOL.

Big cheats on Carrie with Natascha. Charlotte and Harry divorce on friendly terms. Steve has been dead for a couple of years, which paves the way for Carrie to pursue Aiden again because he's now full owner of the bar (but of course eventually Big and Carrie make up in the end). Samantha gets engaged to the guy from the second movie. All single girls again except for Sam (for irony). Or they'll do the baby thing with Big and Carrie *yawn*

I think they should return to a more realistic story arc.

Samantha is getting old… and she’s lonely. She’s not ‘happening’ anymore and finds a kindred soul in Richard. It’s more out of despair than anything else, but it’s better than nothing. Richard too is older now and his feelings for Samantha are genuine.

Miranda and Steve are still together, dealing with their teenage son (how old would he actually be now…? 14? She’s working as an advocate for women’s rights, harder than ever, and Steve sold his bar to be a stay at home father, even though Brady doesn’t need a full time parent anymore. He spends his time rummaging around the house, watching Scooby Doo and no one seems to care that he’s completely lost.

Charlotte has become the typical stepford wife with a drinking problem. The children care more for the Irish nanny than her. The oldest adopted child actually ask, quite bluntly, why a stay at home mom even needs a nanny to begin with, making Charlotte spiral even more out of control. Harry’s at his wit’s end and finally enrols Charlotte in rehab, where her friends visit her.

And than there’s Carrie. She only just found out that Big has a secret love child with someone he had an affair with during their marriage. She doesn’t want to leave him (and his lifestyle), but finds it hard to be a part time step mom to a child she doesn’t even like. Their relationship seems doomed.

Some may find my ideas unrealistic, but I think this is the only possible way to make a convincing third movie. Big is not the faithful type. He would cheat on Carrie and fatherhood may make him see the meaningless of his existence with Carrie. They were never meant to be.

No offense but although realistic these stories are really depressing lol

reply

I like Big having a love child with someone else. That would spice things up.
I also think Samantha being older and close to 60 should be explored. Enough with acting like they're all in their 30s.
Charlotte with a drinking problem would be a bit unrealistic. But I can see her divorced from Harry (although in friendly terms) and her adopted daughter having a horrible attitude and telling her she's not her real mother.
Finally I see Miranda and Steve trying to be adventurous and exploring the swinger scene. Also teenage Brady knocking a girl up would be a good kicker. Miranda an early grandmother! Lol. Horrible.

Previously known as college dropout kid.

I don't see why a third film has to be ridiculous and unrealistic as the first two were, or realistic but tragic. Some people move serenely into middle age and beyond, especially educated ones with good careers and plenty of money to solve their problems.

I see both Carrie and Charlotte having strong marriages. There is no reason Charlotte would become a heavy drinker. If this were real life, I think she would fulfill her dream of having her own gallery once her children were in school. If not, she would be active in charity work and the PTA. Family life would be happy and fulfilling and there would be no infidelity. I see Charlotte and Harry dancing at their daughters' weddings, utterly happy.

I see Carrie finally growing up, after a short period of separation from Big, due to her sense of entitlement and residual immaturity. She would find this period of singleness to be horrible and would return to Big with her tail between her legs, suddenly very grateful for her marriage. They would become content and very bonded, after Big has a serious health scare, eg a heart attack. They will never have children, as they are both much too selfish and set in their ways. Carrie will have great success as a blogger.

Miranda and Steve will definitely split up, as he becomes ever more boring and limited. She may either devote herself to her work, becoming very successful, or find another partner, perhaps a woman. Her son will be very intelligent and accomplished, and she will be very proud of him.

Samantha will marry a wealthy man her own age who has a wonderful sense of humor and who adores her. He will be from old New York society, and Samantha will triumph over her old enemies, now that she is the queen of NY society.

reply

I would like to see them delve more into Miranda's personal life.
