Lupin the 3rd reference in upcoming PIXAR film 'Cars'

I'm SURE this was intentional.

In the upcoming film 'Cars,' one of the cast is a little Fiat 500 named Luigi. He's small, and yellow. Now when was the last time you saw a yellow Fiat 500?

That's right- 'Lupin: the 3rd.'

I'm sure this reference is a nod to the fact that Hayao Miyazaki directed this film.

The last time I went to France.

It is most likely a reference to the Castle of Cagliostro seeing as John Lasseter is a fan of Miyazaki.

By the way, you do realise this is the forum for the second TV series not one of the films.

The words "like Lupin the 3rd" were used in Kanye West's rap song "Touch the Sky" but he pronounced "Lupin" as "Loopin".

I too thought of "Castle of Cagliostro" when I saw Luigi the Fiat 500 in Cars.
