Vaughan Williams

The music played over the opening and closing credits is from Ralph Vaughan Williams' Sixth Symphony (known by some as the War Symphony) and is one of the most beautiful and moving pieces of music I have ever heard.

I've just discovered this!

I loved A Family at War. I was around 15/16 at the time, and the theme music haunted me. It has taken all these years to find out that it was written by one of my favourite composers! I shall now seek out a recording.
