VH1 - This was a great show - your new shows are horrible!

I used to really enjoy this series. It was done very well and it was interesting even when I wasn't a big fan of the group/musician that the show was based on. Sometimes, it rekindled an interest in the band for me. VH1 was doing a great job of promoting music, which I always felt was in their mission statement somewhere.

All this has changed. VH1 is fast becoming the king of garbage TV with every possible lousy reality show possible going on. Instead of seeing new bands to keep an eye on, we see T.O. or for the love of Ray J or Charm School or Megan wants a millionaire which is so low on the entertainment scale I am surprised anyone would waste their time watching any of it at all.

Unfortunately, people ARE watching this crap and as long as they do, I am sure VH1 and others will be more than happy churning this stuff up. I think their goal of promoting music around the world has changed to dumbing down the intelligence around the world one TV set at a time.

Somewhere, someone around that station must care about music. Please put some intelligent shows on that are both entertaining as well as informative. THAT CAN'T BE TOO HARD, CAN IT??

Good news. If you have VH1 Classic, the show is coming back in September with new episodes.

If you love Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it copy this and make your signature!

Yes, I was happy when I heard it would be returning, but then that went away when I heard they would be starting back with Lil' Wayne. Though I'm familiar him and his work from the 90's till now, I thought there were SO many more deserving artists, but since he's gotten very popular in recent years (hip-hop in general) - I'm sure that's why they'd pick him to start with.

But I must say, i didn't know how good I had in the past with these music channels luckily i recorded some of the shows = )

I agree.

MTV and VH1 have gone down to the dumps!

Ray J has a reality show!?? How in the world....??

Not to be a hypocrite, I have watched one or two of the reality shows. Like "Flavor of Love" (Nikki "Hoops" Alexander had me hypnotized!). But I stopped after the second one.

I'm asking the same thing you and probably millions (I hope!) of others are asking - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MUSIC!!??

We had it so good throughout the '80s and '90s and didn't even know it!

You are so right. In my opinion musical got on lifesupport the day dance music became popular.Recycled crap that cannibalises every other musical genre.

I think VH1 was at its peak in the mid-'80s as the "adult alternative" alternative to MTV, but this was a fine coda and appropriate direction for the network to take as its viewers age. Then it became about ... well, I'm not sure, but it certainly wasn't about music anymore.

I haven't watched VH1 in years and don't think I ever will again.
