Saddest BTM Moment

What "Behind The Music" moment made you cry? I would have to say the part from the Motley Crue when Vince Neil recalled his daughter's battle with cancer.

on the Aaliyah episode when people were talking about how shocked they were when they were told of her death....the whole episode makes me cry tho. I really loved her.

reply

On the sublime one, when they talk about brad being found dead and then at the end talking about how lou dog died recently when the BTM was made...

When they did an 'updated' BTM on TLC in March of 2004 with new interviews after Left Eye's death. They also talked about Left Eye's religious journey and even thinking of it now makes me misty eyed.

On the Pantera one when they were talking about Dimebag Darrell's death. Seeing his girlfriend, his brother (Vinnie Paul), and his father all crying was pretty sad.

RIP Dime.

Robbin Crosby's (RATT guitarist) story is extremely depressing. His heroin addiction, AIDS contraction, and death at 41 from a heroin overdose.

"I have to start eating at home more." -Jeffrey Dahmer (talking with his father on a Thanksgiving at Grandma's house)

the Bangles ep. when former bassist Michael Steele wanted to leave the Bangles. "I called her (Susanna Hoffs) up and I said, 'Sue, I can't do this anymore right now.'" and sometime after she left L.A. for northern California to get away from the showbiz stress, her father was diagnosed with cancer in 1993, losing his battle five years later. One year afterward, her mom also passed away. before that, in june of 1990, guitarist vicki peterson's fiance', bobby donati, was diagnosed with lukeimia; at the age 36, donati died the following year.

Watching Jonathan Cain of Journey crying and saying it wasn't fair that 'Kenny K.' a little boy and fan of the band, was dying of cancer.

But Pantera, and Motley Crue's rank right there with it.

The Robbin Crosby thing (RATT.) That whole thing had me in tears.

Pantera. Such a tragedy.

Dmx, when he said no matter how hard you are,you will always be someones. And the fact that he is been fighting crack all his life. its sad.

reply

The Pantera episode for sure. 1) Dime's Father talking about how he would always hug him and say I love you dad, 2) The thing about Phil being barred from Dime's memorial and Phil towards the end saying how much he needed Vinnie Paul. Y_Y "I need Vinnie Paul in my life..real bad." I still think it was harsh of them to bar Phil from the memorial.

The Aaliyah one is sad to me too. The one on Jennifer Hudson made me cry and believe it or not Courtney Love even though she been in alot of trouble she did go through some stuff and you got to know her so much better.

The "Weird Al" Yankovic BTM, where Al talked about how his third album went gold and not platinum, and he could only afford the medium-sized Jacuzzi instead of the large one he wanted. <sniff>

Quiet Riot, when Frankie Banali is talking about his mother's cancer battle and how he was taking every drumming gig he could get his hands on to pay for her care. And the even more heart breaking part where he's crying and he acts like he didn't do enough for her. Any mother would be proud of a son like that. That one always gets me.
