Kipper was gay

I had my first inkling that Kipper was gay when he was naked in front of the mirror talking about how women and men prefer a flat butt and he wished his were flatter. And then I just kept waiting for Maureen, his therapist, or his half-brother (whom he obviously had a huge crush on) to say something about it. This was filmed in the early '80s. We were all pretty enlightened back then about homosexuality, especially in Southern California, which is where all these people lived.

Of course, I suppose perhaps they did discuss it but the director didn't leave it in the film.
