I'm desperately trying to find this title, but everywhere I see it (ebay, etc.) it's always over $40US, which is ridiculous.
Does anybody know where I can find a decently priced copy? (I'm in Canada, BTW)

MME is just static images, while in realMYST the weather changes and you can move around like in a 3rd-person-shooter game (the level of detail in just as good as in the static images). Also, there is a new Age that's not present in any other edition.

It was the Rime age. The system requirements are:
Pentium II 450 MHz
Windows 95, 98, or Me
64 MB RAM
300 MB hard disk space
6x CD-ROM
16 MB video card with 3-D acceleration (i.e. Voodoo2)
Microsoft-compatible keyboard and mouse
It flew on my old 1GHz Athlon with a GeForce2.

I believe that I got a copy bundled with one of the other Myst titles, you might want to expand your search. BTW, I found it awful. The graphics, while more "3-D" lacked the depth and detail that the original had. Sounds like some on the board liked it, I did not.
shareI think that since it was a prototype of the Plasma Engine(Used for Uru: Ages Beyond Myst) that it needed some work. but whenever I play all the games and read the books in a row, I use realmyst because of the better ending and because behind the treegate there is a gravestone for Ti'ana.

Gametap.com allows you to play it for free. All you have to do is go to the website and download their software, which is free and harmless. There are tons of other games too.
Real Myst is awesome, it makes the original game a far more entertaining experience.
