The cameos

Usually the Muppets are really good about who they get to cameo in their movies. Often, they are highlights of the film. But did anyone think the cameos in Muppets From Space were utter crap?

The Muppet Movie's cameos were all A-List stars and comedians. The Great Muppet Caper (which took place in Britain)'s cameos were all famous Brits. Hell, even A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie's cameos were all NBC stars (which made sense since it aired on NBC). Muppets From Space was just kinda... "This is the best we could do. Sorry."

Instead of getting people who were actually related to space/alien media, it seemed like they just grabbed any random actors they could get ahold of. What they should have done was something like this...

Noah
Was: F. Murray Abraham
Shoulda been: Patrick Stewart

The Space Fish
Why not just go all out and have Yoda?

Shelly Snipes:
Was: Andie MacDowell
Shoulda been: Gillian Anderson or Sigourney Weaver

TV Exec:
Was: Rob Schneider
Shoulda been: Mark Hamill

Singer's Boss
Was: Pat Hingle
Shoulda been: William Shatner

Hulk Hogan
Was: ...duh.
Shoulda been: If we're gonna go for an all out WTF cameo, why not use Worf or Chewbacca or Darth Vader or a Predator or something?

The woman who had the mashed potato Gonzo head
Was: Some extra
Shoulda been: Richard Dreyfuss

Security Guard
Was: Ray Liotta
Shoulda been: Mike Nelson

Mad Scientist
Was: David Arquette
Shoulda been: David Duchovny

Female Security Guard
Was: Kathy Griffin
Shoulda been: Gillian Anderson or Sigourney Weaver (whoever didn't play Shelly)

Cast of Dawson's Creek
Was: HORRIBLE
Shoulda been: NON-EXISTENT

Not to mention that there should have been plenty of iconic 'cameos' in the various labs seen at Singer's HQ - Star Trek gadgets, lightsabers, R2 and 3PO, Robbie the Robot, Daleks, someone trying to tame an Alien, etc...

I had no problems with the cameos. It depends on who wants to do them. Maybe not everyone wanted to.
