Master key points in Shurayukihime

1. If Yuki's revenge is given as a natural thing from her birth, how come she falls in love with one of the killer's son. Great point by Fujita.

2. Having sex with all inmates to have a child that can revenge her and her dead husband. The whore with a hidden agenda that explains why she is not actually a whore.

3. Ryuurei's hidden reason for helping Yuki. It turns out he has an unsolved account with his own past.

4. The death of Ryuurei's father. He tumbles from the balcony, we see the American flag and the Japanese flag. He graps the Japanese flag, as to symbolize that the story of revenge etc. is a Japanese story not an American John Wayne/Hollywood affair.

5. Yuki's dress with the yellow/black butterfly (Svalehale in Danish) has the same colours as Bruce Lee's suit that The Brides wears in KB. A symbol of death (black) and danger (yellow).

6. Yuki's death. So well done. Just so well. She doesn't even blink with the daughter places the knife/sword in her. After some seconds, however, Yuki's face has a touch of pain - not because of dying by bullit and knife, but because of her sad destiny, that she gave up her life for revenge. And the daughter gives a whine and goes off. The daughter is actually the most scared of the two.

7. Yuki's clutching the bloody snow and trying to sooth her face. The snow is her name: Snowblood. And her final cry is a cry of insight. She realises that she has wasted her life in the name of revenge.

8. The morning sun and Yuki awakening that symbolizes a new tomorrow, a new life, free of revenge and desire.

I love how there are hidden meanings in the acting, costumes, lighting, etc. You have to really observe what you are watching to catch the meaning. Awesome key points
