I bought the 2-DVD box set straight away when I saw it at the shop. Thought it was almost impossible to get so I was just glad to see it. The picture quality isn't really that good but I like that, as it is just the original format which is the same as the first time I saw it at a special viewing in the cinema.
Only thing that bothers me is that the subtitles are beneath the picture, which means that the picture can't fill out the screen. As I don't understand Japanese I have to watch it with subtitles which makes the picture look like 26inch on my 42inch tv.
It must be cut, the R1 version from ANIMEIGO shows a run time of 97 minutes which appears to be the uncut version. The R0 version with the two films as seen on Ebay for under $10 shows a run time of 84 min, so it must be cut!
shareIt's uncut. I have the disc and it's basically the animeigo version but distributed through another company. The animeigo logos are still in the film.

Be careful it's a bootleg.
The Criterion release with both films in both the DVD and Blu-ray formats is the only one worth buying.
