Sadly, I never saw the film. But I read the book because the cover looks just like a cat I used to have.
The book has lots of pictures and made an old woman like me cry buckets.
What a wonderful story. I don't know if I would want to watch the film, though.
I'd be too sad, probably.

You would be too sad, I haven't seen this movie in 36 years but it burnt an impression on my mind! That's how moving it was.

This is a beautiful story. Kevin Hooks and the other actors were great. So nice to see a feature that is rated G, but isn't stupid or fantastic and is actually inspirational. Too many stories made today are so cynical and irreverant! ALso, Holland Taylor was absolutely stunning in this show!
