Why? Well, I'm just going to have to read the books.

Which is probably the best route, since I'm sure the first 2 movies missed a lot that was in the books. But I want to see Anne and Gil get married! I had heard bad things about this movie, so I looked it up and it's just ridiculous how much was changed. This is coming from someone who hasn't read the books yet, but shame on Sullivan! Was it ever explained why they didn't follow the books? Did he feel that it wouldn't be interesting to follow a married couple? Did he feel that it was only Gil wooing Anne that caught everyone's interest? That if he drew out a storyline of Gil continuing to woo her that it would be more interesting than the books? The books are a classic for a reason. This movie wants to be forgotten by Anne fans.

So I've started reading Anne of Green Gables and am in Chapter 12. If I want to find out what happens to Anne and Gil after the second movie, I will just have to read about it.

Sullivan lost the right to L.M Montgomery's stories...
