outstanding movie even if you're not a cyclist!

I've had ADD lately and haven't been able to sit thru any movie without pausing it and doing stuff around the house. This movie kept my attention the entire time. Unlike most movies, I wish this was about 10-15 minutes longer... ended wonderfully, but too quickly.

For cyclists, I was annoyed at how they cheaped out on building up her bike. Spinning the camera instead of actually building the bike in hi-speed filming. You have to see the movie to know what I'm talking about, but it doesn't take away from this awesome flick!

PS: The race at the beginning of the movie reminded me of Pikes Peak -- 14,000' mountain near Colorado Springs, CO.

I agree that this is a terrific film even if you're not a cyclist. And it does an excellent job of combining the sport of racing with the reality of relationships. Usually sports movies try too hard to hammer home those "hard lessons of life," but this one expertly blended the thrills of racing and romance. I bought this movie for my brother, who is a cyclist, but I wound up loving it.

The movie was playing after the st-jean's festivites on télé-québec. At first i didn't care, was reading the newspapper, but after 20 minutes my attention was totally drawn to the movie. I ended up watching it, and i have to say i really liked it. It was a feel good movie, shot with very low budget, that just makes you smile and enjoy life. I went to be bed in that mood.

I also dream i was selling my HD TV to buy a bike, and i taught about this all day long. The relativity quote in the movie, i just keep thinking about it.

Glad you got a chance to see this rather obscure film! I guess it's obscure because no one's posted here for four years.

I was surprised at how much I liked it. I put it in late and night an expected to fall asleep to it, but I loved the cinematography and the realism, and it also inspired me. I liked the romantic subplot, and the fact that it wasn't a conventional story by any means. I wish more people knew of this film.

I was able to watch this years ago on a channel in my state that gets some canadian films & it must have been good because i remembered parts of it to this day!!!!!!!

It certainly made me wish i could ride a bike to work sometime to help keep in shape( also had me thinking of FLASHDANCE when she would ride to her welding job & it helped along with all the dancing{ballet company auditions sowhat!!!}TO MAINTAIN THAT SLIM TRIM FIGURE that got the boss all hard to swan her:(

One of my related uncles was somewhat into cycling when i was younger but i don't think he competed he did compete as a platform/swimmer diver. I remember getting my 1st 10speed(having a gearshifter meant you had the in thing:)(mini)bike and for some reason back then females my age liked getting the boy bikes with the bar & my parents let me get what i wanted. My uncle had this very expensive type, it was very lightweight and it was red, i think it was a 12speed, he would let me & some of my related cousins ride it while he was close by keeping an eye on his valuable possesion, it was not a mini so when i would ride it was funny seeing me manuver it with the boybar!!!:)
