Opening Theme

Does anyone know any information on the Mahabharat opening and closing themes (ie-- the name of the song, who wrote/sung it, or where I can find the song)? Any help would be much appreciated. :)

I dont know about the opening and closing songs, but right before the opening music ends are two verses from the Bhagawad Gita that are said to a somewhat musical note.

Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bavati Bharata
Abhyutanam adharmasya sadat manam sajam yaham

Paritranaya sadhunaam vinashaya che dushkrutam
Dharma stanstha pana thaya sambhavami yuge yuge

Hope that helps a little bit.

Darmok79, thank you so much. I know exactly what verses you are referring to, and that does help me A LOT. I can't thank you enough for your help-- and thanks for teaching me something new, too! :)

Though I haven't found a soundtrack, I recently learnt how to rip audio from DVDs. Now I have both credit themes and the Kurusetra song from the serial.

I'll continue to look for and accept information on the the music.

The correct lines are:

Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya

Glanirva Bhavathi Bharatha,

Abhyuthanam Adharmaysya

Tadatmanam Srijami Aham

Paritranaaya sadhunaam

vinashaayacha dushkruthaam

dharma samsthapanaarthaaya

sambhavaami yuge yuge

well the song goes like this
" seekh le beete yugon se naye yug ka kare swagat"
which means learn from history and welcome new ages.

I do not know about the composer, but it was sung by the legendary singer Mahendra Kapoor who also sung "Mere desh ki dharti"

Bande me tha Damm
Vande Mataram
