Hindi question

This is a silly question, but could some nice person who speaks Hindi please tell me what is the word everyone uses to describe Shakuni? It sounds like "mamashri", and when it's translated into the subtitles (not often) it's translated as "uncle". Is that the normal word for uncle? "Shri" I had deduced was an adjective of some kind, meaning "honourable", as I could hear it being added to other words, like "bratashri", for "brother". And of course I've heard of it as a title for Shri Ram, meaning "Lord".

Oh, and one more thing: at the end of each episode, over the credits, a number of different scripts come up on the screen. I assume they all read 'Mahabharat', but what languages are they? I've enjoyed listening to the Hindi and picking up words; maybe I will take a course and try to actually learn it.

Flat, drab passion meanders across the screen!
