9X Series

Has anyone seen the series on the channel 9X? I don't know if the channel is available in the US. But what do you people think of the series, i saw the first few episodes on youtube, and they are definitely different from this series, however they don't seem as bad as the "Jai Mahabharat" series from a few years ago.

i saw it and think tis pretty good, the original is still the best becuase it brings back memories. the casting is ok in the new mahabhrata basically all the famous tv stars are in it. some people have issues with the new show being sexed up and the costumes (what little clothes they wear) looking more greco-roman then indian

I just watched a bit of Ekta Kapoor's 'Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki' and I couldn't bear to watch any further. Kapoor has a reputation for glamour, raving and ranting on and on- and sadly, this series just proves that. One look at it and you know that she HAS NOT done her research!

Black clothing, modern outfits and modern jewellery makes the series look like some saas-bahu serial, so reminiscent of Kapoor's previous 'art works'. It is also comparable to a fashion show with characters dressed up like models!

I wish people would stop playing around with something as big and important as the Mahabharat. Clearly Kapoor lacks research, an ability to be insightful, lack of creativity, a vision, and lack of an understanding of an ancient culture. Why is it so hard to be authentic when everything is mentioned in the Mahabharat itself! If she really had such a problem, she could have tried to look at B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat to gain insights into the times, costumes and sets. And the language used is pathetic. There is no poetic deliverance, the acting is shabby even with a large television cast. It is completely anachronistic! Sadly, even the cinematography is no help to make up for any of the other losses. Furthermore, the editing resembles a pop music video with cuts every two seconds!

A total disaster. 0.1/10. 0.1 for making me laugh at the atrocity and proving that any Tom, Dick and Harry can make Mahabharat better than Ekta Kapoor.

ok, can we label this as a failure now? It just doesn't seem as convincing. I might wanna take back what i said about Jai Mahabharat.
