Dolly Sloan
Was this a real person or a character made up for the movie?

There was a real Dolly Sloan; she lived from 1860-1952 and was an activist, suffragist, two-fisted drinker, former prostitute and encouraging wife of artist, John Sloan. Here's some more info:
