Of course, anyone who kills multiple people doesnt deserve to live, but hello...It was a 90 minute shockumentary about "The Killing of America" & Plus It was made in 1982 (24 yrs ago)...Since then things have happened, Ted Bundy was executed (in 1989), John Gacy was also Executed (In 1994), Jeffrey Dahmer wasnt even a known serial killer, and had, at that point only Killed 1 person. I am not having a go at you, I am just saying that saying "He should go to jail or be executed" could literally mean any of the murderers on this documentary. For example if you said "Charles Manson" or "David Berkowitz" or whoever, we would have a clearer vision of who you were talking about.
Just a little constructive critcism. I personally found the documentary, or shockumentary, quiet interesting....yet awfully visual at the same time.
I didnt realise until I watched the end of it, that it was made in 1982,I was thinking 'Why the hell arent they saying that Bundy or Gacy has been executed"...Then It clicked.
My bad. Almost died and then took a very long vacation. Bittaker. Sick twisted *beep* There have been some really horrific monsters in my life for example Fish,Gaskins,etc. but if I live long enough to see Bittaker executed-the party is on me. But the bitch will probably die from old age!!

Hi,
I'm not trying to be liberal and a "leftie" but an eye for an eye maybe not the answer, aren't we just perpetuating the violence? It's a vicious circle isn't it? time to let go guys and see what murder and violence really is, its a backlash to previous memories and the past in peoples lives. I know that some people are just evil and it wouldn't matter how they are raised but you've got to ask yourself why in the USA where there is the death penalty and it's legal to carry gun's there is the highest murder rate per capita in the world, whereby in Europe where it is more liberal (well it used to be) there is lower crime/murder rates. Until we address the balance within society and make life fairer we can't expect things to be better.
Don't get me wrong my first instinct is to say *beep* them and lets kill killers and get tough, but I'm not sure any more what "tough" means, and it sure ain't working. I live in the UK and it's more like the US everyday and I don't want to live in that kind of society. I'm not saying the US is a bad place, it could be the best place in the world, but until we ALL realise that what we currently do isn't working then it will surely carry on.

What's that famous Nietzsche quote? "When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back at you." I think that applies here. I'm about as liberal as they come, but I wouldn't have a problem with Bittaker being snuffed out. There are many humane and painless ways of doing it. It's like putting a mad dog down.
Of course, people will say that we need to study these individuals in order to understand what makes them tick. But, like I said before, maybe there is nothing to really learn here. I just know that these were crimes against humanity and that it feels wrong for that guy to have room and board, a tv, and a sick outlet for his "fame" while he kept young girls alive for two to three days in order to mercilessly rape, beat, and torture them. What if that was your sister, your girlfriend, or yourself if you are a woman?
That's how I feel, though. It may not necessarily be logical, but I don't see how we are doing anything other than allowing these individuals to languish in prison anyway. Perhaps there is no other solution.
It's simple: put the teeth back in the death penalty. Stop all the endless appeals and just do the deed! I believe that if you kill you have relinquished your rights as a human being. By your actions you have ended another person's life and therefore have forfeited your own right to live in society. Enough with all the namby pamby liberal bulls**t, if the evidence proves murder beyond a reasonable doubt, carry out the sentence immediately. Maybe then we can possibly see a change. Nothing worse than a murderer knowing that a death sentence equals years of life that they don't deserve!
