Tom Jericho = Alan Turing?

Overall I liked the movie, but really felt Tom was a heterosexualised Turing, and that undermined the move, making it no less revisionist that U-571.

It's a shame that Alan's genius and contribution to the war effort cannot be appreciated without his sexualty getting in the way.

Well, you can always see "Breaking the Code," with Derek Jacobi, and find out what really happened...if that's your idea of a good time. It's mine. Revisionist? That would be putting it mildly.

When I first (second, third, and...) saw the movie, I thought as much also until I read Harris novel, upon which the movie is based, and discovered that Jericho is not a simulacrum of Turing.

In the novel, Turing is Jericho's Cambridge tutor.

Turing exists in the book so it cannot be Jericho unless they amalgamated the character.
