You could try Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock, or Beautiful with Minnie Driver.
There's one from back in the 70's called "Smile", I think
it was with Melanie Griffith. Not so much dark humor, more
stuff like kids taking polaroids while the girls would be
changing and then trying to sell them, kinda dumb stuff,
but it was one of the first that really lampooned the
beauty contest. At least that I had seen that far back.
There's an Altman film about the french "fashion" biz
that's kinda a dark look at models, etc. I'm killing
the name here, I think it was "Pret e Porte", something
like that (there an Enlish name for it.) Ok, just looked
it up "Ready to Wear"..

shareTheir are several "Mockumentry" films out their. My favorite is still "Best in Show" for 2 reasons 1. It is just a funny film with a great cast and 2. My family showed dogs when I was growing up and the movie is truly poking fun at the people who show dogs. If you think the characters are "OVER THE TOP" in the movie they aren't; real show people act that way.

I think that "To Die For" by Gus Van Sant sheres the same problem, but it's more serious.

Another good movie "Freeway" with a younger Reese Witherspoon.
shareyeah great flick... also can't forget about Reese in Election; amd Jena Malone, Mandy Moore (she can't sing, but she can act), Eva Amuri and Macaulay Culkin in Saved.
There are a ton of great flicks with similar dark comedy, but those ones stick out as ones that fans of this would enjoy watching - and many people haven't seen.
Try the Australian mockumentary 'Razzle Dazzle'.
