I agree, this can't be a parody because it doesn't fulfill two conditions: parody is supposed to be funny, and this one can't provoke a single laugh (even smiles are fake), and parody should be made by understanding the subject that it makes fun of and making the connection visible - either as a coherent, firm and determined story to story connection like Mel Brooks movies (Young Frankenstein, even more High Anxiety) or anarchic dispersed connections that demand good concentration and perception of the viewer like Abrahams & Zucker movies (Airplane, Hot Shots).
As I can see none of these conditions appearing in the movie, I definitely can't consider it a parody.
