HELP,EARLIER LATE 1970S BATTLE OF BRITAIN TV SERIES.

I hardly recall this series,I was a student when it was shown and was not watching much tv.

But I do recall an earlier British tv series about the BATTLE OF BRITAIN.
It was shown 1977,1978,1979 when I was still at school.
I recall all the kids talking about it but I can't recall what it was called.

People on IMDB are so helpful somebody will remember what I am talking about?

Well, there is the 1969 movie, which was kind of a high-aspirations historical piece with lots of snazzy actors and effort put into getting WWII-era planes flying. If IMDB is to be trusted, this show borrowed some of its flying footage.

Maybe it was shown on TV c. the late '70s?

There was a WWII-air-combat TV series in that period - Baa Baa Black Sheep - but it would be extremely difficult to confuse its setting (the Pacific) with the Battle of Britain.

thanks for the reply.
It was not the BATTLE OF BRITAIN film which I saw on the big screen when it came out.

I have tried for years to answer the question I have asked,I am sure it was on when I was at school.

This is probably not the right one, but it seems worth mentioning just in case. Could it be the Why We Fight series which was documentary in nature with an episode about the Battle of Britain - directed by Frank Capra.

If you're absolutely sure it was made in Britain, maybe the BBC would know - worth sending an email?

Probably 'Pathfinders', which would have been repeated around that time, and might have been confused for a BoB series (same engine noise from the Mosquitos!) but there was no other WW11 flying series on during that decade?
