The inference that I drew was that it was her husband's. One poster believed that it was Captain Mason's child. I wonder if the note that was sent to him was a clue. But then we don't know if it was sent by her or by Mr. St. John.

Until it emerges with a dastardly moustache, forming fours and saluting the colours, of course.
Unsure why you would think it was her husband's. She even discussed termination and birth control with the nanny. She got back together with the husband not so much because she lost her lover but because she needed to cover for the pregnancy. So the baby will be born "prematurely" but will be healthy and of normal weight!
