Loved it!!

My only sadness is that it ended so abruptly! And with so many loose ends. What happens to Ned? Does he return to marry Matty and do they set up some sort of business like they talked about? What about Hannah and her baby? We see Nanny Simmons in the last few minutes of the show-what happens there? And what about Lydia? Does she pursue the new found feelings between her and the butler? I was so deep into the stories and felt like everything ended so quickly.

I read your thread while in the middle of watching this (I know. I shouldn't DO that) so was anticipating being a bit disappointed w/the ending......but thankfully I wasn't! Can't help but wonder & imagine what remains to unfold for the women but in no way did I feel like the mini-series failed to give me enough. That said, it would've been SO great to have a sequel! I loved it, too!!

This series reminded me so much of 2007's Lilies, from the realistic depiction of life in that era to the abrupt ending because the BBC wasn't sensible enough to give it another series.

Honestly, they keep rubbish like Robin Hood (which I also used to watch) around for three years, but they can't give these incredibly well-written and touching dramas around for at least two years.
