uh...one thing I don't get...

Why was Chrissa such a bitch? I didn't understand. It kind of confused me.

I'm not racist...I just don't like you =D

Chrissa blamed Patrick Swayze's character for her nervous breakdown. When she decided that she couldn't take it anymore, he never really stood up for her, and she felt that as her lover and the father of her child, he should have been less concerned with the company and more concerned with her. She carried that anger and resentment around for years and she never wanted to dance with him again, because that would mean having to feel again, hence why she always avoided practicing the pas de deux.

He also didn't know she had a full breakdown. Max tells him at one point he took her straight to the hospital after it happened and Travis asks him why he never told him about it. Travis didn't know what happened to her or the extent of her emotional damage. She didn't know that Max never told him about it, so she felt that he had just abandoned her all those years ago. Yes, he did turn away when she collapsed, but how could he know how bad it was and that she was pregnant, not to mention the fact that he had just blown out his already injured knee - the same knee he re-injures in the end. It almost felt like Max was so unhappy himself that he kept them apart, in his own way, so NO ONE would be happy.

I'm not sure she blamed him for her breakdown but rather for abandoning her.

She was his partner and lover. Then she has a breakdown and he never even bothers to see or talk to her again. And, apparently he never even asked about her (because he doesn't know she was hospitalized). So to her, it must have looked like he didn't care a thing about her. And then, when they do meet again, she has to worry about how handle the fact that he's the father of her child - i.e. does she tell him and risk her daughter getting hurt if he flies off again?

I'd be a bitch to him too. You don't abandon a professional partner OR lover like that.
