Maybe I'm confused, but I thought Wendy admitted she was having an affair with Kay's husband and was meeting him at the apartment. I got this from the conversation they were having at the restaurent. Am I wrong?

Yes. He was having more than one affair. She gets upset because she realizes that she was not the only mistress.
