Stupid ending

Wouldn't you have rather seen Mitch Carson suffer in the end than just die instantly?
It would've been cool to see Martha find a baseball bat and break Mitchs knee caps..THEN have the cops come up there and arrest him.
And there were so many times Martha and her mother.ouldve gotten away....
