Are there any cat movies?

Cats seem so underrated, which is sad. Why aren't there any movies about them?

I remember seeing an old Disney movie when I was little, called The Three (or Nine?) Lives of Thomasina. It was about a little girl's beloved cat who dies, but is brought back to life by a beautiful, earthy good witch-type woman. I'd probably think it was sappy now, but at that age I found it pretty moving.

probably because this movie is about loyalty and thats something cats don't have...

DOGS RULLE!! =D

reply

well my cat will be 16 years old in december, the only time she wasnt home, was when she was at the vet getting desexed, that would have been 15years ago theres loyalty for ya.

there was a cat movie a while ago i saw called "that darn cat" about a cat that catches some guys who kidnap a woman ( i think thats how the plot went??)

reply

Actually cats came be very loyal, if you love them, my cat Molly-May sleeps under my duvet most nights, i just think cats tend to be a little more fickle but they do care and they do have feelings!

The problem is more that when a Cat is in movie or cartoon it is regarded to some what egocentric or down right evil. I know you probalbly can find examples of otherwise, but in general that is the case.

The only movie I could remember about a cat and his/her owner is That Darn Cat (with Christina Ricci). You'd probably want to check it out.

Spelled Horror wrong, but what about "Homeward Bound" or "Cats & Dogs"?

Movies I have seen where cats are central characters:

The Three Lives of Thomasina (Love this film, and the book)
Rhubarb <--I *LOVE* this movie!! It's old, but it is awesome.
The Cat From Outerspace (Jake rules!)
That Darn Cat (I prefer the original with Haley Mills and Dean Jones)
Oliver and Company
Cats Don't Dance
Aristocats
Homeword Bound
Cats Eye
Garfield

I'm sure there are others, but these are ones I have actually seen. :)

I think that's where my brother got the name of his cat from. When my brother was overseas he named his cat, Rhubarb, and he said he got it from a movie he once saw. His cat ran away or got lost. When he came back home, he got a new dog and named him Rhubarb as well. He seems to like the name "Rhubarb".
