And it doesn't hide the fact that it is a Canadian drama/cop show... It seems as if some Canadian shows broadcast in the US have watered down there Canadian-ness... Afraid that they might lose an American audience?.... for the most part come, great score and song selections and great dialogue...
Checking IMDB cast information, appears as if all actors - whether regulars or guests - are Canadian born or Canadian citizens... Some real surprises on that account... in particular Donnelly Rhodes... The only American actor that I have throughout the series has been Stewart Margolin - Angel Martin of The Rockford Files.... But he is married to a Canadian according to some online bios...
I haven't seen this show in a few years but isn't one of Da Vinci's superiors British? I know he occasionally talks to someone who sounds like he's English.

True. I've lived in Vancouver all my life, and have had many friends whose parents had come over from Britain. At least five of my teachers were British as well.

Kim Hawthorne, the tall beautiful actor who portrays detective Rose Williams, is an American, from Newark, NJ. She was introduced several seasons in. She was a robbery detective. She was also the union rep who was a big help to Leary when he fired his weapon when the lovely young crazy constable who had a crush on him killed herself. Leo Shannon, unfairly, resented her. When she was transferred to homicide, she was assigned to be Shannon's partner, and he eventually warms to her, because she turns out to be a really lovely helpful person.
She was one of my favourite characters. She sometimes weighs in on the message board, and she seems to be a lovely person IRL as well.
