Yes his dad definitely did kill the boy, but not only that the story he described to his son about the boy found behind the fence that had been the victim of one or more trafficers in human body parts was actually the victim of his dad as well. Refer to the conversation between the two camp counsellors just after the dreaded phone call. The dream of him loosing his younger brother at the carnival lends to the argument that this boy, his dad was seemingly talking about(via another dream sequence) could have also been his younger brother. Suffice to say one can almost say that the human organ trafficers was just a metaphor for his dad, something he had done to cope with the nightmarish realisation that his dad was a murderer, perhaps even witnessing one such attack.

More interesting though is the interesting depiction of the sexual development of the boy. To put it blatently, is he also developing any prediliction for murder himself? The analysis is quite complicated but there are two scenes that stand out above all to this end. The first is where he is cradling his mate during the attack by the organ trafficers on the camp. The second is at the end of the movie where the boy becomes seemingly fixated on the mother and her male child at the gas stop.

Suffice to say this movie was very interesting. Any English Literature\Arts deparment could have a field day with the wealth of medium, in all aspects, begging for disection and analysis.
