Kind of hard to really get in to a movie about Christmas now in July...especially as hot as it is...but I just caught the last hour of this movie. Would someone tell me what the relation was of the older woman at the end? I Thought it was a GREAT movie.....

the older woman at the end, Lillian, is the woman who fell asleep at the wheel and killed Will's parents when he was a child. I love this movie and DRV'd it so I can watch it all the time.
sharehis grandfather passed away. for each of the years that he was married he wrote a journal (48). his grandmother read some of the jouirnals and wanted to know who this lillian person was. neil patrick harris (will) came from ny to take care of the real estate business his grandfather built. he asked his grandmother what she wanted for christmas and it turns out that she wants to know who was lillian. they tried to make it that the grandfather cheated on the grandmother but it wasn't a strong plot.
i'm watching the movie now... don't know who lillian is but i found out now!
I first seen this movie a few yrs ago and really liked it. I ended up recording it on my dvr and I rewatch it sometimes. I have to admit it was nice the way it was wrapped up at the end. I give it a 9 in my book.

I love this movie -- Debbie Reynolds -- she is such a graceful actress. She is one of my mother's fave actresses. DR can sing, dance and act. I love every movie she's been in - that even includes her Disney movies Halloween Town....what a great lady she is :)
Neil Patrick Harris -- such a talent, love him. he can do anything drama and comedy as well.
Naomi Watts, wow -- she's now a TOP A List actress who has done such incredible movies and has played incredible roles- she's been nominated a couple of times as well...she's so underrated, and think she should be getting more roles (imo) she is also the late Heath Ledger's ex-girlfriend, he was heartbroken when they split up, some say she was the love of his life, and michelle williams of course, heath was devastated over their break up .....RIP HEATH U WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED --BEAUTIFUL MAN AND SOUL
I've just watched this in the August heat. TV channels do air Christmas movies in the school holidays. Although this movie wouldn't really appeal to children that much. I thought it was a reasonably good story.
