Question: Wouldn't the dad be considered bi-sexual, not gay??

Why is it that they classify the dad as "gay"? He is obviously attracted sexually to his wife. Why wouldn't he be considered bi-sexual??

He says that he still loves her, but as far as sexual attaction, in the GAMMA meeting, he says to the group that he and his wife made love and that it was a mistake. There were several indications that he was not all that sexually attracted.

yes you are right there were several indications that he not actually sexually attracted to his wife. the scene where his wife was trying to seduced (they were in vacation with their kids)he doesnt looked sexually attracted to her. The guy who was introduced to his wife is the one who is really "attracted not only sexually to his wife but really attracted. He is really a gay

I was going to ask the same thing - in my book since he has a wife and two children he would be classed as bisexual - otherwise how are we going to define that adjective?

I'm gay and had the same thoughts. This movie seems to be just another case of bisexuality being ignored and defaulted to "gay". Apparently in some/many people's minds, it doesn't matter if a person is attracted to the opposite sex. If they're also attracted to the same sex, then they're "gay". And the lamest thing is that there are actually people who are in reality bisexual who nevertheless share this mindset, or think/feel that they simply have to identify as either gay or straight, but not bi. ugh.

I think he was gay. Just because he was able to be sexually aroused to have sex with her doesn't mean he loved it. Maybe he pictured a man every time. But then again we are not shown their life before this, only that she was blissfully unaware of anything.
Throughout the movie he doesn't say anything that leads the viewer to think he also likes women, so we have to take the film's message as it is, that he's gay.

There are many cases like this in the world, don't underestimate the power that one can make himself do things to have a normal life.
