Why doesn't Lions Gates distribute this baby?

I know this is the obvious solution, but hasn't Lions Gates ever consider distributing Peter Flaridi's masterpiece...sure they're bringing on the horror recently, aren't they?

I wish this *beep* movie comes out soon, rather on video and DVD, goes to show that the banks and the MPAA are nothing but whiney pussies.

The problem seems to be with the Royal Bank of Canada. They put some money into the film based on a middleman who guarenteed foriegn sales, then said middle man passed away unexpectedly. Whith nobody knowing exactly what was going on the bank seized control of the film and apparently want a sizeable amount of money for it.This is the main problem wich has kept this film away from the general public.

Yeah. ain't that a bitch?

I have taken the time to track down people involved with the film and even locating the sole 35mm print. I have another post on here with info on the upcoming screening. Hopefully people will show up, some press and public interest will be generated, and then some company may find it worth the time and money to sort out the problems and pay the bank off. Or so I hope, I've done my part.

any chance of getting a transfer of that 35 mm print on vhs or dvd? [email protected]

reply

Well I can't do anything about that as I do not have full acess to the print nor the facilities to make a transfer. But the best thing that can happen now is thatwe can all let the film community know that there is an audience for this film. I do know that a couple of companies have recently shown interest in this title and they just have to be assured that if they do pay out the money to sort through the legal issues that they can succesfully market the film. The screening we had here in RI went very well and a lot of people got to see the film. Now that we got the word out that the print exists, hopefully other festivals and organizations will set up screenings and we can rebiuld the buzz this film had.

It's a crime that this movie does not have a proper DVD released.

I totally agree, I saw about 75% of it online (from beginning to end, I know I missed a few parts, though). I mainly saw this because I was looking up Vincent's profile after watching Angel. He took awhile to grow on me on that show but he finally did. I hear he is owning it in Mad Men, which I have yet to watch.

This movie is going to have to get some unofficial release by the fans soon.
