Just found another old post of mine from IMDb

This was on a topic about Vince Vaughn. People were talking about him trying to impersonate Anthony Perkins.
I honestly do not see that. He actually did things his own way. If people thought that he was trying to impersonate Perkins, it was only because he did certain things from the movie, like eating the candy...etc. This was suppose to be a shot for shot remake after all.
Here is my response....

He was not trying to impersonate Perkins, nor did Van Sant want him to, or he would have cast a Perkins -type.

I second that. He did many things that Perkins didn't do in the original..... like jerking off.
On the other hand, I prefer the way Perkins handled that mop while cleaning up the mess in that bathroom!

Seriously, I thought it was a good idea that he didn't try to be a carbon copy of Anthony Perkins's Norman Bates.
I love the original movie. I always will.
I confess though, that this remake is a fun guilty pleasure. Vince Vaughn was fun to watch as always....

I love the original, but like any play you see, it is always interesting to see what other actors do with the material.
If you ask me, I think that these actors did a decent job!
Years later, I like both movies.
