Why did Jake refuse to take the Porsche?

Why did he refuse to take the Porsche even though his dad gave it to him?

reply

Typical sappy "family is more important than material things" message. I would've taken that Porsche in a heartbeat.

I noticed that, too. I was like, "Why are they sitting down? It's not time yet." You'd think they'd wait until the clock struck six. When my family gets together for the holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter), my sister and her husband and children are always "fashionably late." We usually wait a half hour past the designated time for them to show up, and if after that time they haven't, we're like "The hell with them!" They almost always arrive while we're in the middle of dinner.

thx. agree. it's the holidays! relax.

We have a pool and a pond...pond be good for you.

When they made the deal, the dad said "Not a minute late" and JAKE agreed.

I would have taken the Porsche anyway.

I think that it was mostly an excuse to want to come home for the holidays. I mean he made it across the friggin country without a car, he could spend a few more bonding with his dad and drive it on special occasions.
