The Grandfather saga?!

It took me a second read of your post to catch it, but -- yeah -- that's an epic fail.

And even more so when you consider that Francis Ford Coppola had nothing to do with the making of this B Western. It was written/directed by his nephew, Christopher Coppola, which is Nicolas Cage's brother. Francis didn't even produce it; all he did -- according to the credits -- is "present" it, which simply means his big name in the industry (at least at the time) is linked to the move simply to gain a greater audience. And it worked because the only reason I looked into it was because of Francis' name above the title, which is a real smarmy marketing maneuver since he had nothing to do with the film itself.
