The new Rupert show....

I'm not really sure they should have updated it, to make Rupert all modern. As the appeal was the cheesy, old fashioned fun of the show and the magical lands him and Bill went to and the crazy japes they got involved in. The new series on channel five means none of today’s kids will get to see the proper Rupert in his trendy yellow trousers and scarf.

The updated version looks and sounds terrible. The whole point of Rupert is the "classic" setting, he will not fit in a modern setting. If they want to make more episodes they should just keep with the books, they've all ready strayed so far they should just change his name and make it a completely different show anyway. And this is coming from a person who absolutely loves Rupert, and I could still watch it everyday- It would be nice to see new episodes, but nothing is better than this.

I hope it comes out on DVD soon! :)

Meh, the new Rupert is for preschoolers. So, that's fine by me. If he were older for us older fans, than i would be even more pissed.

I'm just hopeful that this brings interest and the classic Rupert to dvd aswell...

don't know if it brought interest to Rupert or not, but the "classic" Rupert is on Qubo TV. if you got a digital converter box, its ION's second broadcast channel, and I think you can get it through cable/satellite as well, go to Qubo.com.
