It's about a young boy who is growing up in Nebraska and struggling to find his identity. He has no friends and is often beat up, but despite his pain he tries to break into the popular crowd by playing baseball. He finds that he can make contact well but unfortunately he has no power.
One day when getting beat up after popping up and ending a close game that many of his teammates had candy money riding on he desperately reaches for something to defend himself with, he finds a wooden rod and smashes it over a kids head but it breaks and leaves the bully relatively unharmed, he then finds a metal pole which he breaks the bully's shoulder with. He has a revelation and discovers the advantage of using a metal bat in baseball to give him the power he needs to hit balls farther. Unfortunately for him, he has many failed trials with different types of metal until he finds three aluminum poles (he confuses them with titanium). He ties them together and realizes that unlike the other metal bats he experimented with he can swing this one much faster. He names this new bat the "Titanic".
In the closing scene of the film a close game (6-7 the opposition is up) is in session. There is a man on second and the boy is picked, reluctantly, to pinch hit (they called it substitution?) for another kid who is forced home by his mother. He unveils his new aluminum bat which receives many laughs from the opposition and many groans from his teammates who believe that the game is lost. The boy uses the first two strikes to adjust his swing with the light bat to the speed of the ball. The third ball is thrown and our hero hits it out of the park and as he runs the bases with a smile and a hopeful future ahead of him he trips, falls to the ground, breaks his arm and falls unconscious due to the pain. He wakes up to find the kids have carried him to a hospital. They stand by his side as the doctor informs him that the break is very serious and that he must stay away from sports for at least three years. The kids sympathize for him, but they slowly begin, one by one, to leave his hospital room and he finds that he is again all alone in the world.

Titanic is not about the legendary ocean liner, but rather an interesting tale about a fictional rare mineral called Titanic which can preserve life etc.Since then its been thought to be an Italian film about the Titanics sinking.In fact the film has very rarely been seen and could be lost.So once and for all this film has nothing to do with RMS Titanic.I know very little else about this film.So there is very little to say about this film, apart from from it's misguided title there is nothing else to say and do about this film apart from wasting ones time trying to find out the supposed links to Titanic in it.Perhaps the reader may find films such as saved from the titanic and in nacht und ice a German film.
