I felt the movie climax was kinda weak. Who was the bald guy? why there was money in the safe? why such elaborate and complicated plot to make just one murder (after all just kill her and dispose the body ). the blackmail part.... the part that proving that bill murdered her (AND tortured) is far from done deal
all this is not very believable.
I liked the film, but Following was more of an exercise in filmmaking than creating something concrete, which isn't to say that Following isn't good, because it is. It's just very student filmy.

A conventional linear plot would've made this film pedestrian and boring.
The complicated plot was used as a way for Cobb to kill the woman while having The Young Man bear the legal punishment.
